On April 30th, 2024, Maharaja Agarsain Public School, Ashok Vihar organized a heartwarming farewell ceremony in their auditorium for the exchange students from the United States: Evan Benoit and Alisa Yarling The event celebrated the time these two students spent at the school as part of an international exchange program.
The ceremony began with a slideshow capturing the beautiful memories Evan and Alisa made during their stay, highlighting the new experiences, friendships, and personal growth they enjoyed was showcased which left the audience truly overwhelmed.
Next, there was a soulful piano performance by Evan, who impressed the audience with his renditions of two very popular Bollywood songs. Alisa then took the stage with a melodious harmonium performance, singing a Hindi song with great finesse, leaving everyone awestruck.
Followed by this, the two host families with whom these students were living since past 10 months, were invited to come on stage and share some heart touching anecdotes from their experiences. They shared some heartfelt memoirs of time spent with Evan and Alisa and it truly left everyone immensely emotional. The bond that they had developed over this period of time is truly a special one.
A high-energy dance performance by the talented students of Class 12, brought everyone to their feet with their energetic choreography, groovy beats and superb synchronization. Towards the end, the students had organized some fun interactive segments like "Guess the Song" and "Tasty Teasers" which added lots of laughter and cheer to the ambience of the auditorium.
In the end, the honorable Principal Ma’am shared her vote of thanks to the two host families for keeping these students safe, healthy and happy during their stay in India and giving them a home away from home. She also presented a beautiful collage of some amazing pictures designed especially for Evan and Alisa which they would cherish all their lives.
It was a bittersweet but very special occasion to bid farewell to Evan and Alisa after the enriching experiences they had in India through this exchange program. The students and teachers wished them the very best for their future endeavors, having expanded their horizons through this cross-cultural bond.
