Topic: Metacognition and Mindfulness
The class assembly of XI E began with the intriguing question: "How do you think about your thinking?" This immediately sparked curiosity, setting the tone for an enriching session on metacognition. Students were introduced to the concept of metacognition and its vital role in learning, problem-solving, and decision-making. Many students took the opportunity to reflect on their own strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles, deepening their understanding of how they approach challenges. To reinforce these ideas, the assembly featured a variety of engaging activities, including group discussions, a skit, a poem presentation, and an interactive metacognition quiz. Each segment was designed to keep the audience involved and encourage self-reflection. By fostering metacognitive skills, students are not only better equipped to excel academically, but they also become more thoughtful and effective decision-makers in everyday life. The assembly concluded with a powerful takeaway: Being mindful of how we think is the first step towards mastering the art of learning and living.
